Bloomside Mural Client: DESC

This vibrant two-panel mural was created for DESC’s Bloomside building, a supportive housing facility for individuals exiting chronic homelessness. The artwork features colorful Pacific Northwest flora and butterflies—Monarchs and Western Tiger Swallowtails—symbolizing transformation, healing, and connection. Inspired by the nearby Burien Farmers Market, each flower was chosen for its meaning: rebirth, balance, devotion, and resilience. The movement between plants and pollinators reflects an ecosystem of care and growth. Designed to echo the building’s mission, the mural offers a welcoming sense of hope and joy for residents rebuilding their lives—and for the community surrounding them.
