FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Seattle Muralist Angelina Villalobos Brings Her Work to Tieton’s Día de los Muertos Celebration October 25

TIETON, WA (October 25, 2026): Seattle muralist Angelina Villalobos will join Tieton Arts & Humanities for its annual Día de los Muertos celebration on Sunday, October 25, from 12 to 6 PM at the Mighty Tieton Warehouse (608 Wisconsin Ave, Tieton, WA). Angelina will have an original piece in the Día de los Muertos Exhibition, plus a booth in the Mercado where she’ll be selling prints, pins, and magnets.

Día de los Muertos is a community celebration honoring los muertos and the beauty of life, with roots in Indigenous and Catholic traditions. Each year, Tieton Arts & Humanities builds one large community altar and invites everyone to add to it: photos of loved ones, written messages, mementos, candies, or pan. The day also brings a lowrider showcase, performances, and a Mercado full of local vendors.

““Día de los Muertos is about making space for the people we’ve lost while celebrating everything they gave us. Tieton builds that space for the whole community, and I’m honored to have my work on the walls and to spend the day with everyone who comes out to remember.””
— Angelina Villalobos

Angelina’s piece, Xolo, will hang in the exhibition alongside work from artists across the region. The digital illustration shows a xoloitzcuintle leaping over a field of marigolds, a nod to the xolo’s role as a guide for spirits on their journey through the underworld. Five limited-edition giclée prints of Xolo will be available at her Mercado booth, each with a signed certificate of authenticity.

WIP of Xolo, digital illustration available as a giclee print.
