I really love this hero shot in front of my newest Seattle mural at Pim Coffee and Bikes in Fremont. Shout out to Joshua Padilla of @king5seattle for producing this piece and Erin for for working with my schedule to film this. This was filmed the morning I braved the 5 hour drive alone to Walla Walla for a Hip Hop workshop and panel discussion at Whitman College. We raced the rain to make sure this shot was captured.
I’m so incredibly touched to be a part of the Pacific Northwest Latine Artists feature along with prestigious artists Jake Prendez (@jakeprendez), Raquel Garcia (@raquelitagm), Alex Siniscalchi (@ccstencil), Jose Rodriguez (@joserodriguez3rd), Alfredo Arreguin (@alfredarreg), and the wonderful work of Nepantla Arts Gallery (@nepantlaculturalarts / Jake Prendez & Judy Avitia-Gonzalez). While this is a celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, the goal is for it to continue on as we celebrate our diversity, our cultures, and our histories together year round. "Hispanic" is not a monolith and we come in all different flavors.

Arreguin's art I have admired with ever since receiving an El Centro De La Raza poster with his famous running horse with founder Roberto Maestas name hidden in the patterns. I was 12 and hadn't realized yet how much creating art meant to my very being. Maestas always instilled in me that I was important. He did this with his energy, his wisdom, and his belief that I like all youth, are the future. He made sure to fill the halls of El Centro with activists, community leaders and members, and artists work like Daniel DeSiga and Arreguin. It means the world to me to be featured along side him as someone who's work preserves the legacy and heritage of art and muralism for the Latine community.
